Third Fox format deal for Granada

Stateside producer Termite Art Production has picked up a Granada entertainment format for development into a show for the Fox network.

The format to Hotel Getaway, which aired in the UK last August on ITV, will be reversioned into a 4×30' show for Fox, under the new title Hotel Hell.

In the UK version three couples check into the hotel from hell, staffed by actors who ensure things go wrong, while their every move is captured by hidden cameras.

{We see this as the prototype for the next generation of reality shows,{ says Termite Art's chief Erik Nelson, {because with hidden cameras we can make certain that the real stays in reality.{

The format sale was brokered by Marcus Plantin with Bill Hamm from Granada Entertainment USA and Greg Lipstone, Ben Silverman and Hans Schiff from the William Morris Agency.

The sale marks Granada's third such format deal with Fox: the US network has previously taken Boot Camp and The Krypton Factor – both produced by LMNO Productions.
